Panch Pokhari Trek Overview

Panch Pokhari Trekking is designed uniquely and offers unforgettable experiences of the Nepal Himalayas. This trek is lately added in the trekking regions where five lakes of the Sacred and Pristine glacial lake system are located at an elevation of 4,060 m/ 13,341 ft. These lakes are holy among Hindus, and during the festival, namely, Janai Purnima, which falls on the full moon day of the month of July-August, a large number of pilgrims reach to take a dip into the icy-cold water.

The lake system is also known for the high-altitude wetland situated at the base of the Jugal Himal. Water discharged from the lake flows as the Indrawati River, one of the major tributaries of the Koshi River System.

Panch Pokhari Trek begins from Chautara of the Sindhupalchok district east of Kathmandu. You can enjoy cultural diversity in the region, primarily among the Sherpa and Tamang people. The trek is still unspoiled by visitors, pristine, less crowded, and naturally fresh.

As the trek walks up to 4500 meters altitude, you need to have good physical and mental preparedness. During the trek, you can enjoy the view of majestic Himalayan peaks of east-central Nepal Himalayas including Dorje Lakpa (6,966 m/ 22854ft), Phurbi Ghyachu (6,637m/21774ft), Madiya (6,257 m/20528ft) of the Jugal Himal range, peaks from the Rolwaling range, and peaks of the Langtang range.
